I have no idea why this year's birthday is so emotional for me. I just feel so so so so SO blessed with all the love. Perhaps it's really because I'm spending it with people I truly have the best connection with, people I can relate to, people closest to me! I'm so thankful, so so so thankful for all the help rendered to me by my friends. Letters, handmade crafts, redpackets, all these I am thankful. I think I can really cry if I just type out how thankful I am. You get the drift. :)

Thank you all my love as you read this post. I'm filled with so much joy and gratitude. :)

I thought it's about time for some update, lest I forget too many things along the way. Perhaps I should start with Chinese New Year. I fell so sick for six days straight during the CNY holiday (due to tonsils inflammation) and it was really terrible. But I'm so thankful (as always), for the people around me, blessing and encouraging me. Then came February, which I am thankful for even though we are only halfway there. I think I have come to appreciate little moments be it people showering their concern for me or otherwise. I enjoy giving little post-its as surprises to make people's morning (trust me, it really does!). Or surprising birthday girls by calling them or just showing up at their place. Adding onto that, I'm making more effort to meet up with people even if it's during school term. I think we cannot overlook the importance of relationships, right? So yup, that's the motto for February. Looking forward to March. :)

Out of the blue

I was trying to come up with something weekly. And I failed. And then I failed again. And I failed again and again. And I finally got down to capturing my thoughts as I was doing my readings. It's not awesome a picture, but it captures my thoughts and I thought that was enough. I'm basically extremely caught up with the past these days. Not just "these days" but really, I've always been so... nostalgic. I miss being young as I was. I miss the fun friends I made in school in the past. I miss so many people. Sometimes I wish I have that ability to meet up with everyone of them and just hang out like old times! I miss school. I really do.

Happy birthday to a new year. 2011 went by pretty quickly without me having really accomplished much. Although it really was a year of many firsts. I guess the step to refuse anymore allowance from my parents and start earning my own allowance really made me more independent and really made me think twice in spending my money (although I must say I did spend quite a bit on food).

I did quite a bit of traveling in 2011 as well and though it may really seem quite a feat for a student, it really hurt my pocket. I visited Hainan, Taiwan, Japan and a short getaway last December at Malaysia. I'm thankful for the wonderful opportunities to have been able to travel so much last year. This year, as of now, I have to see where my money takes me, especially with the exchange programme in mind next year.

School's about to start and I'm really looking forward to it. There's not much time left in being a student and before I know it, I'll soon be working. Looking back, I miss those secondary school and jc days dearly. I feel so old now! :( Being old is one thing. Being old AND wise is another. I felt 2011 wasn't a very fruitful year for me not because I do not know how to be grateful that I have been blessed so much but because I felt I haven't grown as much in my character as I want it to be.

I know 2012 will be an exciting year. I do not want to be a boring urban resident. I want to see people, I want to interact, I want to learn, I want to discover.

2012 awaits! I know it will be better than 2011. :)

Whatever happens tomorrow, we had today. I'll always remember it.-I love you Dexter, so much. I just don't like you anymore.
It's three thirty in the morning and I suppose the reason as to why I am still wide awake is very much due to the earl grey I had at ten. And I guess this timing calls for some deep thoughts. Melvin told me to watch this. It wasn't fantastic a plot, but both the Sturgess and McAdams were awesome in their acting. I skipped the redundant parts. That said, the movie did set me thinking.
"Friends", 20 years, before they finally realised what was for them.
I wish I could undo some things. Choices - it's really part and parcel of growing up isn't it? Had I chose a different approach, a different path, what would it be for me now? Could I be in a relationship? Or would I be satisfied being single? And either way, staying happy?
Time for some good sleep, hoping to wake up to an awesome Christmas Eve :)

Pockets of happiness

It definitely didn't occur to me that it's been weeks since I last post. I want to keep up a habit of noting down my thoughts, though. Then again, I think I wouldn't have to come up with posts to keep myself reminded about what happened for the past few weeks. What is it like for a student? Obviously busy. And that was the (duh) thing that kept me super occupied. Band concert is done with, awesome time spent with new people, rushing assignments, impromptu meet up with people when I was feeling down. I think my classic tweet of the year would be: my mid week is like da bian. I thought that was pretty funny after I sorted out my emotions. This is truly a ranting post and I am not having any specific thoughts at this very moment simply because I look like a panda =_= and I really need rest. I'm hoping for about 10 hours of rest once I publish this. Once again, I'm back to the art of randomness. I guess it's better than days when I'm emotional!
